English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Khubayb ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Hafs ibn 'Asim — that he said: 'We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he used to pray the traveler's prayer — meaning two rak'as. And [we prayed two rak'as] with Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and [the first] six years of 'Uthman's caliphate — then [Uthman] prayed four.'
