حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْن

َ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ الضَّبِّ قَالَ لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ

English Translation

'Abdullah said: I found in my father's book: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Shu'bah informed us, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar, I heard Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock. The imam is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. A man is a shepherd over his family and is responsible for them. A woman is a shepherd in her husband's household and is responsible for her flock. A servant is a shepherd over his master's wealth and is responsible for it.'
