حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنِي صَخْرُ بْنُ جُوَيْرِيَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ لَمَّا خَلَعَ النَّاسُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ جَمَعَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ بَنِيهِ وَأَهْلَهُ ثُمَّ تَشَهَّدَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنَّا قَدْ بَايَعْنَا هَذَا الرَّجُ
لَ عَلَى بَيْعِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْغَادِرَ يُنْصَبُ لَهُ لِوَاءٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ هَذِهِ غَدْرَةُ فُلَانٍ وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَعْظَمِ الْغَدْرِ أَنْ لَا يَكُونَ الْإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ تَعَالَى أَنْ يُبَايِعَ رَجُلٌ رَجُلًا عَلَى بَيْعِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ يَنْكُثَ بَيْعَتَهُ فَلَا يَخْلَعَنَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَزِيدَ وَلَا يُشْرِفَنَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ فَيَكُونَ صَيْلَمٌ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Isma'il narrated to us, Sakhr ibn Juwairiyah narrated to me, from Nafi' who said: When the people deposed Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah, Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) gathered his sons and family. Then he pronounced the testimony of faith and said: 'As for what follows: Indeed, we gave bay'ah [pledge of allegiance] to this man on the condition of Allah and His Messenger. And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: On the Day of Resurrection, a banner will be raised for every treacherous person, and it will be said: This is the treachery of so-and-so. And indeed, the greatest treachery, after associating partners with Allah, is for a man to give bay'ah to a man on the condition of Allah and His Messenger and then break it.'
