حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ

عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُعَذَّبِينَ أَصْحَابِ الْحِجْرِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ فَلَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمْ مَا أَصَابَهُمْ

English Translation

Waki' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us — and 'Abd al-Rahman from Sufyan — from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not enter upon those who are being punished unless you are weeping, lest what afflicted them afflicts you.'
