حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أ

َنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ فِي الْحَيْضِ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مُرْهُ فَلْيُرَاجِعْهَا ثُمَّ لِيُطَلِّقْهَا وَهِيَ طَاهِرٌ أَوْ حَامِلٌ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki', from Sufyan, from Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman the freed slave of the family of Talha, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah — that he divorced his wife while she was menstruating. 'Umar mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'Command him to take her back, then let him divorce her when she is pure or pregnant.'
