حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ تَوْبَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ الْعِجْلِيِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ أَتُصَلِّي الضُّحَى قَالَ لَا قُلْتُ فَصَلَّاهَا

English Translation

It was narrated — via Waki', from Shu'ba, from Tawba al-'Anbari, from Muwarriq al-'Ijli — that he said: 'I asked Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما): "Do you pray the Duha [mid-morning] prayer?" He said: "No." I said: "Did 'Umar pray it?" He said: "No." I said: "Did Abu Bakr pray it?" He said: "No." I said: "Did the Prophet ﷺ pray it?" He said: "I do not think so."'
