English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu Sa'id the mawla of Banu Hashim, from Layth, from 'Asim, from 'Abdullah ibn Shaqiq — that he said: 'I asked Ibn 'Umar about the night prayer. Ibn 'Umar said: "A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about the night prayer while I was between them. He said: 'The night prayer is two rak'as at a time. When you fear [the break of] Fajr, hasten to finish with one rak'a [for Witr], and [pray] two rak'as before the Fajr prayer.'"'
