حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْأَنْدَرَاوَرْدِيِّ مَوْلَى بَنِي لَيْثٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَسَنٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ثُمَّ الْمُحَارِبِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْن
ِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَاسِعِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ قَالَ فَذَكَرَ التَّكْبِيرَ كُلَّمَا وَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ وَكُلَّمَا رَفَعَهُ وَذَكَرَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu Salama al-Khuza'i, from 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muhammad al-Darawardi, from 'Amr ibn Yahya al-Ansari, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from his uncle Wasi' ibn Habban — that he said: 'I said to Ibn 'Umar: "Tell me about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — how was it?" He mentioned saying takbir every time he lowered his head [in sujud and ruku'] and every time he raised it, and he mentioned saying: "al-salam 'alaykum wa-rahmatullah" to the right and "al-salam 'alaykum" to the left [for the final taslim].'
