حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ { وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَالْأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالسَّمَوَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ } وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ هَكَذَا بِيَدِهِ وَيُحَرِّكُهَا يُقْبِلُ بِهَا وَيُدْبِرُ يُمَجِّدُ الرَّبُّ نَفْسَهُ أَنَا الْجَبَّارُ أَنَا الْمُتَكَبِّرُ أَنَا الْمَلِكُ أَنَا الْعَزِيزُ أَنَا الْكَرِيمُ فَرَجَفَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمِنْبَرُ حَتَّى قُلْنَا لَيَخِرَّنَّ بِهِ
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Affan, from Hammad ibn Salama, from Ishaq ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Talha, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn Miqsam — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse one day on the pulpit: 'They did not estimate Allah with true estimation — while the entire earth is in His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens are rolled up in His right hand; glory be to Him, exalted above what they associate' [39:67]. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was gesturing with his hand, moving it back and forth, while the Lord proclaimed His own majesty: 'I am al-Jabbar, I am al-Mutakabbir, I am al-Malik, I am al-'Aziz, I am al-Karim.' The pulpit shook with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we thought it would topple over with him.
