حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ ال
لَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِالْحِجْرِ لَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُعَذَّبِينَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ فَلَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمْ مِثْلُ مَا أَصَابَهُمْ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Affan, from 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muslim, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while at al-Hijr [the land of Thamud], said: 'Do not enter upon these punished people except while weeping [out of fear] — for if you are not weeping, do not enter, lest what befell them befalls you.'
