Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَوَّامُ أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَمْنَعُوا نِسَاءَكُمْ
الْمَسَاجِدَ وَبُيُوتُهُنَّ خَيْرٌ لَهُنَّ قَالَ فَقَالَ ابْنٌ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بَلَى وَاللَّهِ لَنَمْنَعُهُنَّ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ تَسْمَعُنِي أُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَقُولُ مَا تَقُولُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yazid ibn Harun, from al-'Awwam, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'Do not prevent your women from [going to] the mosques — though their homes are better for them.' A son of 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: 'By Allah, we will prevent them!' Ibn 'Umar said to him: 'You hear me narrating from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and still say what you say!'
