English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Ali ibn 'Asim, from Khalid al-Hadhdha', from 'Abdullah ibn Shaqiq al-'Uqayli — that he said: 'A man from the desert called out to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was between him and the Bedouin. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, how is the night prayer?" He said: "Two by two. When you fear [the break of] Subh, [pray] one rak'a, and two rak'as before the morning prayer."'
