English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from 'Uqba ibn Hurayth — that he said: 'I heard Ibn 'Umar say: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The month is twenty-nine [days].'"' Shu'ba clapped his hands together three times and folded the thumb on the third time. 'Uqba said: 'And I think he also said: "The month is thirty" — clapping both hands together three times.'
