حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَيْمَنَ يَسْأَلُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَأَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ يَسْمَعُ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ حَائِضًا فَقَالَ إِنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَقَالَ ال
نَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيُرَاجِعْهَا عَلَيَّ وَلَمْ يَرَهَا شَيْئًا وَقَالَ فَرَدَّهَا إِذَا طَهُرَتْ فَلْيُطَلِّقْ أَوْ يُمْسِكْ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَقَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ { يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمْ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ } فِي قُبُلِ عِدَّتِهِنَّ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَسَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا يَقْرَؤُهَا كَذَلِكَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Rawh, from Ibn Jurayj, from Abu al-Zubayr, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ayman — that [Abu al-Zubayr] heard him ask Ibn 'Umar: 'What do you say about a man who divorces his wife while she is menstruating?' [Ibn 'Umar said:] 'Ibn 'Umar divorced his wife in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. 'Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah, 'Abdullah has divorced his wife while she is menstruating." the Prophet ﷺ said: "Let him take her back, under my order" — and did not count it [as a valid divorce]. He said: "When she becomes pure, then let him divorce or retain her."' Ibn 'Umar said: 'the Prophet ﷺ recited: "O Prophet, when you divorce women, divorce them at the beginning of their waiting period" [65:1].' Ibn Jurayj said: 'I also heard Mujahid recite it [the same way].'
