Hadith #263
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مِينَاءَ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَا أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ عَلَى أَعْوَادِ الْمِنْبَرِ لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ عَنْ وَدْعِهِمْ الْجُمُعَاتِ أَوْ لَيَخْتِمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَلَيُكْتَبُنَّ مِنْ الْغَافِلِينَ
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar and Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yazid, from Hisham al-Dastawa'i, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Sallam, from al-Hakam ibn Mina' — that they narrated that they heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say from the planks of the pulpit: 'People must certainly cease abandoning Friday prayers — or Allah will seal their hearts and they will be counted among the heedless.'
