حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَخْبَرَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا رَجَعَ مِنْ أُحُدٍ سَمِعَ نِسَاءَ الْأَنْصَارِ يَبْكِينَ عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِنَّ فَقَالَ لَكِنْ حَمْزَةُ لَا بَو
َاكِيَ لَهُ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ نِسَاءَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَجِئْنَ يَبْكِينَ عَلَى حَمْزَةَ قَالَ فَانْتَبَهَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَسَمِعَهُنَّ وَهُنَّ يَبْكِينَ فَقَالَ وَيْحَهُنَّ لَمْ يَزَلْنَ يَبْكِينَ بَعْدُ مُنْذُ اللَّيْلَةِ مُرُوهُنَّ فَلْيَرْجِعْنَ وَلَا يَبْكِينَ عَلَى هَالِكٍ بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Safwan ibn 'Isa, from Usama ibn Zayd, from Nafi' — that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from Uhud, he heard the women of the Ansar weeping for their husbands. He said: 'But Hamza has no one to weep for him.' When this reached the women of the Ansar, they came and wept for Hamza. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up during the night and heard them still weeping, and said: 'Woe to them — they have not stopped weeping since that night. Tell them to go back, and let no one weep over the dead from this day forward.'
