English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Abu Ja'far the muezzin, from Muslim Abu al-Muthanna — that Ibn 'Umar said: 'In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the adhan was [called] twice — Hajjaj said: meaning each phrase twice — and the iqama once, except that [the caller] would say: "Qad qamat al-salah, qad qamat al-salah" twice. When we heard the iqama, we would perform wudu then go out for the prayer.' Shu'ba said: 'I recall nothing beyond this.' — [Second chain:] via Hajjaj, from Shu'ba — who heard Abu Ja'far, the muezzin of al-'Urban in the mosque of Banu Hilal, from Muslim Abu al-Muthanna, the muezzin of the congregational mosque — and he mentioned this hadith.
