حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ ع

َنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا عَلَى اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُ مِنْهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'No envy is [praiseworthy] except in two cases: a man whom Allah gave wealth and he spends it at all hours of the night and the day; and a man whom Allah gave the Quran and he stands [in prayer] with it at all hours of the night and the day.'
