أبو نوح
عبد الله بن دينار
ابن عمر
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu Nuh, from al-Layth, from Yazid ibn 'Abdullah ibn Usama ibn al-Had, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar — that a Bedouin passed by him while they were on the road to Hajj. Ibn 'Umar said to him: 'Are you not so-and-so, son of so-and-so?' He said: 'Yes.' So he went to a donkey on which he used to rest when he tired of his riding mount, and a turban with which he used to wrap his head, and gave them both to the Bedouin. When the man had gone, one of us said to [Ibn 'Umar]: 'You gave away the donkey you used to rest on and the turban you used to wrap your head with — to this Bedouin, when he would have been satisfied with a dirham!' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Verily, the most righteous act of piety is a man's maintaining ties with the loved ones of his father after [the father] has passed away."'
