حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَ

رَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ النَّاسِ اثْنَانِ

English Translation

Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, 'Asim ibn Muhammad ibn Zayd ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar ibn al-Khattab narrated to us, from his father, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If only people would stop boasting about their dead ancestors who are but burning coals of Hellfire, or they will be more insignificant before Allah than the dung beetle that pushes dung with its nose. Allah has removed from you the boasting of Jahiliyyah. One is either a pious believer or a wretched sinner. All people are children of Adam, and Adam was created from dust.'
