English Translation

Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from his father who said: Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) entered upon Yahya ibn Sa'id, and a boy from his children had tied up a hen and was shooting at it. Ibn 'Umar walked to the hen and released it, then walked back with the hen and the boy. He said: 'Discipline your boy! I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid tying up an animal to be used as a target.'
