Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ فُضَيلٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاة
َ الْعِشَاءِ حَتَّى نَامَ النَّاسُ وَتَهَجَّدَ الْمُتَهَجِّدُونَ وَاسْتَيْقَظَ الْمُسْتَيْقِظُ فَخَرَجَ فَأُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ وَقَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَخَّرْتُهَا إِلَى هَذَا الْوَقْتِ

English Translation
Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Fudayl, from Mujahid, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the 'Isha prayer until the people fell asleep, then they woke up, then fell asleep again, then woke up. He came out and said: 'There is no one on the face of the earth awaiting this prayer except you.'
