حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرْ الل
َّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ إِزَارِي لَيَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ تَصْنَعُ الْخُيَلَاءَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Affan, from Wuhayb, from Musa ibn 'Uqba, from Salim, from 'Abdullah — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever trails his garment out of arrogance — Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.' Abu Bakr said: 'O Messenger of Allah, one side of my lower garment droops unless I constantly attend to it.' He said: 'You are not one of those who do it out of arrogance.'
