حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُبَارَكٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِق
َّيْ ثَوْبِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ خُيَلَاءَ قَالَ مُوسَى قُلْتُ لِسَالِمٍ أَذَكَرَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ قَالَ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ ذَكَرَ إِلَّا ثَوْبَهُ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Attab, from 'Abdullah (meaning Ibn Mubarak), from Musa ibn 'Uqba, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah — that he said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever trails his garment out of arrogance — Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection." Abu Bakr said: "One side of my garment sometimes droops unless I keep adjusting it." the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "You are not one of those who do that out of arrogance."' Musa said: 'I asked Salim: did 'Abdullah specifically mention trailing his izar [lower garment]?' He said: 'I only heard him mention his garment [thawb].' — [Second chain:] via 'Ali ibn Ishaq, from 'Abdullah, from Musa ibn 'Uqba — mentioning the same with its chain.
