Hadith #242

حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ وَأَبُو الْيَمَانِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُسَبِّحُ وَهُوَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ رَاحِلَتِهِ لَا يُبَالِي حَيْثُ كَانَ وَجْهُهُ وَيُومِئُ بِرَأْسِهِ إِيمَاءً وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Isam ibn Khalid, from Shu'ayb ibn Abi Hamza; and Abu al-Yaman said: Shu'ayb ibn Abi Hamza, from al-Zuhri, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform voluntary prayers while on the back of his riding camel, not caring in which direction he faced, nodding his head [for the movements of prayer]. And Ibn 'Umar used to do the same.
