Ibn Numayr narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Mujahid who said: Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Permit women to go to the mosques at night.' His son [Bilal] said: 'We will not permit them to use it as a pretext!' Ibn 'Umar struck him and said: 'I narrate to you from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and you say "we will not permit them"?!'
