حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَيُّوبُ
عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ اتَّخَذَ كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ أَوْ صَيْدٍ انْتَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ

English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — and Ayyub from Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Among the trees there is a tree whose leaves do not fall, and it is like the Muslim. Tell me what tree it is.' The people thought of various desert trees. Ibn 'Umar said: 'It occurred to me that it was the date-palm, but I felt shy.' They said: 'Tell us what it is, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'It is the date-palm.'
