Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَسَاهُ حُلَّةً فَلَبِسَهَا فَرَآهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ أَسْفَلَ مِنْ الْكَعْبَيْنِ وَذَكَرَ النَّارَ حَتَّى ذَكَرَ قَوْلًا شَدِيدًا فِي إِسْبَالِ الْإِزَارِ
English Translation
Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما), that the Prophet ﷺ clothed him with a garment and he wore it. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw its fringes dragging on the ground, he said: 'O Ibn 'Umar, shorten it, for Allah does not love the one who drags his garment out of pride.'
