حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَكُ فَاحِشًا وَلَا مُتَفَحِّشًا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ مِنْ خِيَارِكُمْ أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu Mu'awiya, from al-A'mash, from Shaqiq, from Masruq — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was never lewd [fahish] nor did he behave lewdly [mutafahhish]. He used to say: 'The best of you are those with the best character.'
