English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Hilal ibn Yasaf, from Abu Yahya — that he said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying while seated. I said to him: "I have been told that you said: 'The prayer of a sitting person is worth half the prayer of a standing person.'" He said: "Yes — but I am not like any of you. I am afflicted [with illness], and one who is afflicted praying while seated has the same reward as one praying while standing."'
