English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya, from Husayn al-Mu'allim, from 'Abdullah ibn Burayda, from Abu Sabra — that he said: ''Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad used to ask about the hawd — the Basin of Muhammad (ﷺ) — and used to deny it, even after asking Abu Barza and al-Bara' ibn 'Azib. He asked 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, who said: "I did not ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, but he said: 'My Basin is the [distance] between Ayla and Aden — its cups are more numerous than the stars of the sky.' And I heard him say: 'I will be at the Basin and you will come to me from different directions — I will say: O Lord, here are my people. He will say: You do not know what they innovated after you.'"'
