Hadith #125
Arabic Text
قَالَ وَكُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا آخَرَ حِينَ طَلَعَتْ الشَّمْسُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَيَأْتِي أُنَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ نُورُهُمْ كَضَوْءِ الشَّمْسِ قُلْنَا مَنْ أُولَئِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ فُقَرَاءُ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالَّذِينَ تُتَّقَى بِهِمْ الْمَكَارِهُ يَمُوتُ أَحَدُهُمْ وَحَاجَتُهُ فِي صَدْرِهِ يُحْشَرُونَ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ الْأَرْضِ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — [continuation of the preceding chain] — that he said: 'And we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on another day when the sun had risen. He said: "People from my ummah will come on the Day of Resurrection with their light like the brightness of the sun." We said: "Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "The poor among the Muhajirun — those who will be gathered from the corners of the earth."'
