English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Anas ibn 'Iyad, from Abu Hazim, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A man does not truly believe until he believes in al-qadar [divine decree] — both its good and its evil.' Abu Hazim said: 'May Allah curse a creed older than I — meaning the denial of al-qadar.'
