حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا دَرَّاجٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ دَخَلُوا عَلَى أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ فَدَخَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَهِيَ تَحْتَهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَرَآهُمْ فَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى
اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ لَمْ أَرَ إِلَّا خَيْرًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ بَرَّأَهَا مِنْ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ لَا يَدْخُلْ رَجُلٌ بَعْدَ يَوْمِي هَذَا عَلَى مُغِيبَةٍ إِلَّا وَمَعَهُ رَجُلٌ أَوْ اثْنَانِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki', from Sufyan, from 'Uthman al-Batti, from Abi al-Khalil, from Asma' bint 'Umays — that some men from Banu Hashim entered upon her, and Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه) entered and saw them and disliked that. He mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'I do not see anything wrong with that.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I saw men from Banu Hashim entering upon her.' He said: 'I know that she is my brother's wife [Ja'far's wife] — and I will bear witness that she is righteous and that she is chaste.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'No man should enter upon a woman whose husband is absent unless there is another man [a mahram] with him, or two.'
