حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ الْمَعْنَى وَاحِدٌ قَالَا حَ
دَّثَنَا سَوَّارٌ أَبُو حَمْزَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرُوا أَبْنَاءَكُمْ بِالصَّلَاةِ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ وَاضْرِبُوهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لِعَشْرِ سِنِينَ وَفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ وَإِذَا أَنْكَحَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَبْدَهُ أَوْ أَجِيرَهُ فَلَا يَنْظُرَنَّ إِلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْ عَوْرَتِهِ فَإِنَّ مَا أَسْفَلَ مِنْ سُرَّتِهِ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ مِنْ عَوْرَتِهِ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki', from Dawud ibn Abi Hind, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Command your children to pray when they reach seven years of age, and discipline them for it when they reach ten. And separate them in their sleeping places.' He also said: 'The 'awra [private area] of a slave man is [from] the navel to the knee. And the 'awra of a hired worker is [from] the navel to the knee.'
