English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — [continuation of the preceding chain] — that he said: 'And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Indeed Allah created His creation, then placed them in darkness, then cast upon them from His light as much as He willed. Whoever was touched by His light on that day was guided, and whoever it missed went astray. That is why I say: the Pen has dried upon what is [already destined]."'
