حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ أَخْبَرَنَا شُرَحْبِيلُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ رَافِعٍ التَّنُوخِيَّ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِي يَقُولُ
إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا أُبَالِي مَا أَتَيْتُ أَوْ مَا أُبَالِي مَا رَكِبْتُ إِذَا أَنَا شَرِبْتُ تِرْيَاقًا أَوْ قَالَ عَلَّقْتُ تَمِيمَةً أَوْ قُلْتُ شِعْرًا مِنْ قِبَلِ نَفْسِي الْمَعَافِرِيُّ يَشُكُّ مَا أُبَالِي مَا رَكِبْتُ أَوْ مَا أُبَالِي مَا أَتَيْتُ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abdullah ibn Yazid, from Haywa, from Shurahbil ibn Sharik al-Ma'afiri, who heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Rafi' al-Tanukhi say — that he heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As say that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'When you hear the muadhdhin [caller to prayer], say what he says — then send blessings on me, for whoever sends one blessing on me, Allah will send ten blessings upon him. Then ask Allah to grant me the Wasila — for it is a rank in Paradise that belongs only to one servant of Allah's servants, and I hope that I shall be him. Whoever asks Allah to grant me the Wasila, intercession [shafa'a] will be permitted for him.'
