حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا فُتِحَتْ مَكَّةُ عَلَ
ى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كُفُّوا السِّلَاحَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى وَيَزِيدَ وَقَالَ فِيهِ وَأَوْفُوا بِحِلْفِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَإِنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ لَمْ يَزِدْهُ إِلَّا شِدَّةً وَلَا تُحْدِثُوا حِلْفًا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abd al-Wahhab ibn 'Ata'; and via Husayn al-Mu'allim, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather — who said: 'When Mecca was conquered [for] the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "Sheathe your weapons."' [The narrator] mentioned a hadith similar in meaning to that of Yahya and Yazid. And in it he [the Prophet ﷺ] said: 'Fulfill the alliances of the pre-Islamic era [hilf al-jahiliyya] — for Islam has only made them stronger. But do not form new alliances in Islam.'
