English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ibrahim ibn Ishaq al-Talqani, from Ibn al-Mubarak, from Layth ibn Sa'd, from 'Amir ibn Yahya, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli — who said: 'I heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed Allah (عز وجل) will single out a man from my ummah before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection and spread out before him ninety-nine scrolls — each scroll as far as the eye can see. Then He will say to him: 'Do you deny anything in this? Have My recording guardian angels wronged you?' He will say: 'No, my Lord.' He will say: 'Do you have any excuse or any good deed?' The man will be dumbfounded and say: 'No, my Lord.' He will say: 'But yes — you have one good deed with Us, and no wrong will be done to you today.' A card [bita'qa] will be brought out for him bearing: \'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger.\' He will say: 'Bring it.' He will say: 'My Lord — what is this card against these scrolls?' It will be said: 'You will not be wronged.' The scrolls will be placed on one pan of the scale — and the scrolls flew up [were light] while the card weighed heavy. And nothing outweighs the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful."'
