حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْرُ أ
ُمَّتِي الْقَرْنُ الَّذِي بُعِثْتُ فِيهِمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ أَقَالَ الثَّالِثَةَ أَمْ لَا ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ قَوْمٌ يُحِبُّونَ السَّمَانَةَ يَشْهَدُونَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْتَشْهَدُوا

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Hushaym, from Abu Bishr, from 'Abdullah ibn Shaqiq — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The best of my Ummah is the generation in which I was sent, then those who follow them, then those who follow them' — Allah knows best whether he said the third [generation] or not — 'then there will come a people who love fatness [al-samana], who testify before being asked to testify.'
