English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Rahman, from Malik, from Dawud ibn al-Husayn, from Abu Sufyan — that the Prophet ﷺ permitted [the transaction of] al-'araya [selling unripened dates on a palm tree in exchange for an estimated equivalent of dried dates], to be sold for their estimated value [bi-kharsiha] — within five wasqs [a unit of volume] or less than five.
