Hadith #134

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan, from al-Zuhri, who heard Ibn Ukaima narrating to Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab — that Abu Hurayra said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in a prayer — [Sufyan's narrator] thought it was Fajr. When he finished, he said: "Did any of you recite [along with me]?" A man said: "I did." He said: "I was saying: what is the matter, why am I contested [unaza'u] in the Quran?!"' Ma'mar [added,] from al-Zuhri: 'After that the people refrained from reciting in prayers where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited aloud.' Sufyan said: 'That phrase was obscure to me [in my transmission].'
