‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَفِظْتُ عَنْ ‏ ‏مَعْمَرٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏يَحْيَى ‏ ‏أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ ‏ ‏ضَمْضَمٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ ‏ ‏الْأَسْوَدَيْنِ ‏ ‏فِي الصَّلَاةِ الْعَقْرَبِ وَالْحَيَّةِ ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Sufyan [who said: I memorized it from Ma'mar, from Yahya who informed him], from Damdham — that the Prophet ﷺ commanded killing the two black ones [al-aswadayn] during prayer: the scorpion and the snake.
