حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ

أَبِي سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى رَكْعَةً مِنْ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَلَمْ تَفُتْهُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى رَكْعَةً مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَلَمْ تَفُتْهُ

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr, from 'Ali [ibn al-Mubarak], from Yahya [ibn Abi Kathir], from Abu Salama — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever prays one rak'a of the Fajr prayer before the sun rises, he has not missed it. And whoever prays one rak'a of the 'Asr prayer before the sun sets, he has not missed it.'
