حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ دَارَ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ فَرَأَى فِيهَا تَصَاوِيرَ وَهِيَ تُبْنَى فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ ذَهَبَ يَخْلُقُ خَلْقًا كَخَلْقِي فَلْيَخ
ْلُقُوا ذَرَّةً أَوْ فَلْيَخْلُقُوا حَبَّةً أَوْ لِيَخْلُقُوا شَعِيرَةً ثُمَّ دَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ حَتَّى جَاوَزَ الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ فَلَمَّا غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ جَاوَزَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ إِلَى السَّاقَيْنِ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا فَقَالَ هَذَا مَبْلَغُ الْحِلْيَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Fudayl, from 'Umara, from Abu Zur'a — who said: I entered with Abu Hurayra into the house of Marwan ibn al-Hakam while it was being built. He saw images [tasawir] in it and said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Allah (عز وجل) says: \"Who is more unjust than one who sets out to create a creation like My creation? Let them create a particle [dharra], or let them create a grain, or let them create a barleycorn.\""' Then he called for wudu water and performed wudu, washing his forearms past the elbows; and when he washed his feet, he went past the ankles to the calves. I said: 'What is this?' He said: 'This is the reach [mablaghu] of the adornment [hulya — the light of wudu on the body on the Day of Resurrection].'
