English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid [ibn Harun], from Muhammad [ibn Ishaq], from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'People are [like] veins of ore [ma'adin]. Those who were best among them in Jahiliyya are best among them in Islam — once they acquire understanding [fiqh of the religion].'
