زِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا وَلَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid [ibn Harun], from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj — that Abu Hurayra said: 'Abu al-Qasim (ﷺ) said: "By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad — if you were to know what I know, you would weep much and laugh little."'
