English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from 'Aqil ibn Ma'qil, from Hammam ibn Munabbih who said: I came to al-Madina and saw a circle [of people] at the minbar of the Prophet ﷺ. I asked, and was told: 'Abu Hurayra.' I asked [to sit with him], and he asked me: 'Where are you from?' I said: 'From the people of Yemen.' He said: 'I heard my beloved [habbi] — or he said: I heard Abu al-Qasim (ﷺ) — say: "Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni. They have the most tender hearts. But harshness [al-jafa'] is among the loud [al-faddadin — clamorous people] — the owners of camels [ahl al-wabar]."' And he pointed with his hand toward the East.
