English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Kamil, from Zuhayr, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from his father — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When you meet them on a road, do not begin [the greeting] — and force them to the narrowest part of it.' Zuhayr said: 'I asked Suhayl: [Do you mean] the Jews and Christians?' He said: '[The hadith is about] the polytheists [al-mushrikun].'
