English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Kamil, from Ibrahim, from Ibn Shihab, from al-Agharra and Abu Salama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman — and [also] via Ya'qub, from his father, from Ibn Shihab, from al-Agharra [Ya'qub did not mention Abu Salama]; and Ahmad's father noted that Yunus narrated it via al-Agharra and Abu Salama — from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'On Fridays, at every gate of the mosque there are angels who write [the names] first by first. When the imam sits [for the sermon], they roll up their scrolls and come to listen to the remembrance [dhikr — the sermon].'
